The Kamino Clone Kids Played for 2025 League Champion: Fantasy Football Recap

It was a good season for the Kamino Clone Kids. Two weeks before the playoffs, the Kids were sitting in first place! They lost the final two games, but went on to play the Khofar Nights for the league championship. It was a bad week to have an average week. The Kids receivers, 3 of the top 5 receivers in the league this season, had pedestrian weeks and the Kamino Clone Kids fell 191.02 to 156.47.

The Kids received admirable play from QB Dak Prescott (33.25) and RB Chase Brown (31.60), but the trio of George Pickens, Amon St. Brown, and J. Smith-Njigba totaled 42.80 points, combined. Jaylen Warren, who scored 37.40 points the week before, came in with 7.32 points in the final game. Alas, this was a competitive league and the Kids was in the heat of it the entire season.

The league completed its sophomore season, and the Kamino Clone Kids have emerged as a team to contend with. In 2024 the Kids finished in third place and now, 2025, they ended in second place. While it would be nice to walk away with the big trophy, the front office is happy with the first two seasons’ results.

League Champion Crowned: No It Isn't The Coca Cola Kids Football Club

With the real NFL season heading to the Super Bowl, it is time to check on theFantasy Season for the Coca-Cola Kids Football Club. It didn’t go well.

Actually, the season ended well, but by the time the team leveled out, it was too late. Before the Kids hit a 5-game win streak to end the season and playoffs in 7th place, they were 3-9 in week 12. What was the difference? First, Joe Burrow returned in week 13. Second, the Kids running backs, Derek Henry and Kenneth Gainwell, started playing like the studs they are. Third, the Chargers’ defense was added to the team and made a solid contribution to the late-season scoring. Finally, Brock Bowers was placed on the IR, and rookie Colston Loveland found his groove with Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

While 7th place in a league of 10 isn’t where the Kids would like to finish the season, the last five weeks of the season culminated in a 7th place match-up, where the Kids finished the season with a dominating win, 204.47 - 85.09, over the Rittz Boyz Blitz. In fact, no one in the championship week came close to scoring as many points as the Coca-Cola Kids that week. This is something to build on for next year, I suppose.

Fantasy Football: The Coca Cola Kids Football Club Playoffs

Fantasy Football Playoffs start this week.  The Coca Cola Kids Football Club finished the regular season on a three game win streak after Joe Burrow returned from the IL, but it wasn't enough to make the playoff bracket as the Kids ended with an 6-8 record finishing in 8th place in the We Are United Fantasy Football League.  So the Kids open the Consolation Quarterfinals with a Bye Week.  Not exactly how you want to start the playoffs after coming off of a three game win streak.

Fantasy Football: Kamino Clone Kids Playoffs

The Fantasy Football Playoffs are here and the Clone Kids should be happy...but they aren't.  Two weeks ago, the Kids were flying high in first place of the division and the league.  After losing two straight weeks, they now sit in 2nd place in the Light Side Division and 4th in the league.  

Time to wrap the sore joints, tie up the pads, and strap on the helmets as we head into the first week of the playoffs against the 5th place team in the league and division foe, Pabu Porgs.  The Kids split the season with the Porgs winning one early and losing in Week 13.  It should be a good game for the first round of the playoffs, but the tension is high to prove the good season wasn't a fluke.

The Kamino Clone Kids have had a  surprisingly good first half of the season!  They have had some QB problems the last couple weeks as Baker Mayfield has been struggling to command the team.  Wide Receivers have been the commanders of the Kamino Clone Kids with George Pickens, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and J. Smith-Nijgba leading the way.  Tight ends Tyler Warren (IND) and Jake Ferguson (DAL) have contributed well in the first 8 weeks as well.  Running backs Chase Brown (CIN) and Jaylen Warren (PIT) are holding their own.  

The front office picked up Trevor Lawrence to cover Mayfield's bye week, but they may stick with him if Mayfield doesn't right the ship.  Kids coaches also hope that Jonathon Cooper (DEN), Edgerrin Cooper (GB) and Budda Baker (ARI) can step it up to score extra points on defense.

Fantasy Football: The Coca Cola Kids Football Club Weeks 9-14 (updated 12/9/25)

Let's just say, this isn't a season to remember.  Unless, you like to remember horrible starts to the season.  The Kids come into Week 9 2-6, 9th place in a ten team league.  There is no consistency this season, for example, Baker Mayfield is hitting a groove then in weeks 7 and 8 he completely collapses.  Oh, there is also the matter of losing top QB, Joe Burrow, after week 2 of the season.  Every position has been disappointing, wide receivers Sutton (Den) and Jennings (SF) have yet to show up, running backs Stevenson (NE) and Henry (Bal), tight end Bowers (LV) has been out for a few weeks.  Well, the record speaks for itself.  

Let's see if this team can turn it around in the second half of the season.

Just like in Fantasy Baseball, I can't help myself and just have one fantasy team.  I like to double my chances at maintaining middle-of-the-road teams that aren't terrible, but definitely aren't winners either.  

This is the second season of the Jedi Knights Fantasy Football League.  The Kamino Clone Kids actually fared well in the inaugural season with a record of 11-5 and finishing third in the league of 10 teams.  We wiped the slates clean except for choosing draft order, and started fresh with the 2025/2026 season teams.

I went with a new strategy in drafting this year.  I did my best to take the top pick in each category available at the time I decided to draft.  Then, when it came to the bench, I went with as many top rated rookies at each level.  So far it hasn't really worked out for me as none of the rookies have come out hot, and my starters didn't carry the team with any big scorers the first week.  

We shall see how the season fleshes out.  I am hoping that some of the young players on the bench will get some opportunities and catch fire.  

Fantasy Football Mid-Season Report

The mid-way point in the NFL has passed and it is time to check in on Fantasy Football.   For

my two teams, it has been feast or famine.

The Kamino Clone Kids started the season at 4-0 and have since gone 2-4 with some tough losses.  For example, in week 9 they scored well over 200 points at 226.35 only to lose to the 6-2 Dathomir Rancors who put down 236.90 points.  The bright spot is that Nico Collins was to return from the IR in week 10 to join an incredible wide receiver corps of Zay Flowers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Quincy Williams.  He returned, but he did not play in week 10.  DK Metcalf should also return in Week 11.  Things are looking up for the Clone Kids. 

The Coca-Cola Kids stumbled out of the gate with a 1-3 record and not breaking 200 points once in the first four games.  They struggled with inconsistent play in the running back position and Will Levis struggled before Derek Carr replaced him to similar results.  In week 5, Trevor Lawrence joined the team and Denver took over the defense and the Kids have gone 3-3 since game 5.  Still two games under .500 at the mid-way point, the Kids need to figure out if Kyler Murray is their quarterback.  Rookie Bo Nix is on the bench waiting to join Trevor Lawrence in the two QB league.  Steady point getters, Jahmyr Gibbs and Brock Bowers are looking for some help from Cee Dee Lamb and Javonte Williams in key positions.  

If the Coca-Cola Kids want to make a run at back-to-back championships, they need to straighten the ship and start putting some points on the board through the second half of the season.  One thing that brings hope is that last year's championship season was not a perfect one.  The second half of the season is when they picked up steam.  So, this is something to work towards for the Coca-Cola Kids.

A New Fantasy Football League brings a New Team Name (Updated 12/16/24)

I have been playing Fantasy Sports since the late 1980s when my friends and I got permission from our math teacher on Tuesdays to go in the hall to figure our fantasy points from the baseball team stats in the USA Today.  Over the years, I've won a few seasons, had lots of promise for good seasons, but more than not, they end in disappointing seasons.  I have played Fantasy Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Nascar (I had no business in the Nascar league).  The league I have been with the longest started sometime in the early 2000's.  That is a baseball league league with guys from the West Coast to the East Coast of the United States.  I didn't know most of them when we started and some guys dropped off and some have joined, but we have become good friends even though many of us have never met in person.  

The whole point of this walk down memory lane is to say, when I am asked to join a new league, I struggle mightily to say no.  That said, I joined a new football league this year, and I would like to introduce a new Fantasy Football Team: The Kamino Clone Kids in the Jedi Knights Football League.

I am excited for this league for a few reasons.  First, I've never played in a league where we draft individual defensive players instead of a team defense.  That is kind of fun and offers a new way to strategize both in the draft, but in the season as well.  Second, I'm in this league with some really great friends, and I think that is what it is all about, friendships.  Anyway, after week 3 the Clone Kids are looking pretty good, and headed for a clash with the only other undefeated team in the league, the Pabu Porgs managed by my very excellent friend Colby, host of The Colby Cast.

The 2024 Fantasy Football Champs - Coca Cola Kids Shoot for Back-to-Back Update 12/16/24

The Coca-Cola kids, the 2024 Champions of their Fantasy Football League, are ready for a new season.  The draft is done and we head into the second week of the season with a 1-0 record.  The team this year doesn't have quite the powerhouse players as last year's team, but the Kids look to be competitive again this year.  Slow and steady is the way to win this year!  Maybe there will be a couple surprise, highlight seasons from a couple guys to push the Kids to a back-to-back championship.

Coca Cola Kids - Fantasy Football Champs!!

Now that we have cleaned up all the confetti, we can finally sit down and reflect on the 23/24 Fantasy Football season.  It was a season that started in a pedestrian sort of way for the Coca-Cola Kids with a 3-4 record by week 7.  But then the kids went on a 5-game win streak and found themselves in the hunt with an 8-4 record then ending the regular season at 9-5.  

After that slow start, the Kids' manager started making some tremendous waiver wire pick-ups and seemed to play the hot players at the right time.  It was masterful managing (luck) to earn the five-game win streak as players like Sean Howell emerged mid-season.  When the Kids' manager realized that he had squeezed all he could out of the Miami Dolphins' defense, he swiftly turned to the Buffalo Bills defense which really brought the points the last several weeks of the season.  

Throughout the season Dak Prescott, Stefon Diggs, Amon-Ra St.Brown were stalwarts whom the Kids could count on every weekend.  Genius waiver wire pickups like Najee Harris, Howell, and late-season pickups of Isaiah Likely and Jake Browning kept the winning ways through the end of the season and playoffs.  

The Kids had a playoff run like no other season winning in the following ways: 

Quarterfinals: Bye

Semifinals: 216.70 - 198.26 over Roll Tide (8-6) the 2020 champions

Final: 207.48 - 149.41 over The Watergirl (12-2) the regular season champions. 

The season was topped with raising the Last Murray Standing Fantasy Football League Champion trophy.  The Kids become one of two teams to win the league since 2013 with their second league championship.  To their credit, the other multi-league winning team, LukeIAmYourFather has won the league six times.  

But, the Coca Cola Kids are the 2024 League Champions!
